On Thursday, April 30, 2026, organized by the Diocese of Buda, the Serbian Church Museum in Szentendre and the Center for Religious Studies of the Lorand Eötvös Faculty of Philosophy in Budapest (ELTE), an exhibition of photographs by Ivan Jakšić about the Grabovac Monastery was held in the ceremonial hall of the Faculty of Philosophy, and at the same time, the book by art historian Dr. Ksenija Golub, published in 2024 under the title “Orthodox Grabovo Monastery – Serbian Artistic Heritage in the 18th Century in Hungary”, was presented to the public.
At the very beginning, His Eminence Metropolitan of Buda, Mr. Lukian, and Prof. Dr. David Bartuš, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of ELTE University, addressed the audience. The program was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Miklós Istvan Feldvari, Head of the Department. The presentation of the monograph was attended by Professor Emeritus Dr. Balazs Deri, who spoke about liturgical chanting and spiritual experience, as well as Dr. Sylvester Terdik, who emphasized the importance of monastery monographs and presented Grabovac as a “comprehensive work of art”. The exhibition was realized within the framework of the Serbian-Hungarian Cultural Season.
The event was attended by H.E. Biljana Gutić Bjelica, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Hungary, and Ivana Kunc, First Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, as well as numerous professors and students.
