On Thursday, 12 March 2026, in the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum of Szentendre, the photography exhibition ‘The Treasures of Szentendre and of the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum’ was opened as part of the wide palette of programmes of the Season of Serbian and Hungarian Culture. The author of the photographs is Attila Mudrák, photographer of the Christian Museum of Esztergom, one of Hungary’s best-known photographers from the area of museum-exhibit and heritage-ensemble photography. The exhibition was conceived as a travelling show to enable its presentation in other locations and exhibition halls as well over time.
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, those present were greeted by Botond Kiss Bence, Head of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy. In his address, he highlighted the cultural heritage of Hungary’s Serbs, stressing the importance of the Season of Hungarian and Serbian Culture, which is specifically aimed at presenting cultural heritage.
Finally, as a representative of Serbian cultural life, Dr Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, Director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, Novi Sad, opened the exhibition ceremonially. In her speech, she made special mention of all the joint enterprises and projects that the Gallery and the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum of Szentendre had realised together. Congratulating the author on the outstanding photographs, in her address, she emphasised the significant contribution of such ‘travelling exhibitions’ to the effort to acquaint a wider audience with the unique Serbian cultural treasures of Szentendre.
