On 12 September, the Exhibition ‘Uroš Predić in Szentendre’ was officially opened at the Serbian Church Museum, also marking the start of the programme ‘Serbian Days – the Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary’.

At the opening ceremony, speeches were made by: His Grace Metropolitan Lukijan Pantelić, Archbishop of Buda, Minister Đorđe Milićević, Envoy of the Government of Serbia, State Secretary Dr Eszter Vitályos, Spokesperson of the Government of Hungary, H.E. Biljana Gutić-Bjelica, Ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina, art historian Snežana Mišić, Museum Advisor of the Gallery of Matica Srpska and Koszta Vukovits, Head of the Museum and curator of the exhibition. The centrepiece of the exhibition is Uroš Predić’s image of Saint George, painted for Szentendre merchant István Wuits in 1902 and presented to the Serbian Church Museum by István Wuits’s granddaughter, Rita Wuits, in 2023.
