This time, the portrait of the Archimandrite of the Monastery of Mânăstire (Monostorszentgyörgy), Banat Region, was chosen. Archimandrite Pavle Kengelac (1766-1834) was among the most prominent figures of Serbian culture during the first half of the 19th century.  One of its artist’s most successful works, the portrait was painted by the painter Konstantin Danil (1798-1873). The portrait of Archimandrite Pavle Kengelac, from the private collection of Sztoján and Marietta Vujicsics, was presented to the museum by Marietta Vujicsic in 2013.

The same day also saw the launch of a book on the Monastery of Grábóc by Xénia Golub, PhD, in the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum, as a component of the event ‘Open Churches in Szentendre’, too.   Written in Hungarian and richly illustrated with photographs by Iván Jaksity, the book was published jointly by the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Buda and the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum of Szentendre.
