The public projection of a film on the Monastery of Grábóc within the series ‘The Gems of the Eparchy of Buda’ took place on 8 July 2022. In the pleasant atmosphere of the garden of the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum of Szentendre, visitors had a chance to become acquainted with the high artistic quality of the murals of Grábóc, its iconostasis and architecture, as well as with the history of the monastery, going back to the late 16th century.
An autonomous project developed by Diana Gyurity and Xenia Golub, PhD, the film is the first piece of a series presenting the rich cultural heritage of Hungary’s Serbs.
The public projection was attended by the clergy of the Eparchy of Buda, as well as representatives of the diplomatic service of the Embassy of Serbia in Budapest. The audience was addressed by the author of the film, Diana Gyurity, who said thanks to Bishop Lukijan and the Eparchy of Buda for their blessing for the realisation of the project. In his speech, Koszta Vukovits, Director of the Serbian Ecclesiastical Museum, stressed that the projection marked the beginning of a diverse series of cultural and art programmes to be organised in the museum garden during the summer season.
