Over twenty professional tourist guides from the Hungarian Association Idegenvezetői Terített Asztal [Tourist Guides’ Banquet Table] visited the Serbian Church Museum of Szentendre on Tuesday, 29 March 2022. Thanks to Alexandra Aleksić, organiser of the visit, visitors were acquainted not only with the exhibits and a brief history of the Museum but with the centuries-long history and culture of the Serbian community of Szentendre and, ultimately, of the broader Danube Region as well.
After the Museum, the visitors also viewed two churches – the Church of the Annunciation and the Cathedral – which continue to speak to the erstwhile cultural and economic development and might of the Serbian Old Town to this day. During the visit, an agreement was made as to how the negative consequences caused by the Coronavirus pandemic could be offset with dispatch and what new programmes for tourists and visitors to the Museum could be designed.
